Long Day

So Tuesdays are probably my longest days of the week. I get to work at 7:00 in the morning and work until 4:00. Then I drive 35-45 minutes (in traffic) out to Centerville to shoot. I usually get started shooting around 5:00, and I shoot until 6:00. (Not as long as I'd really like to shoot, but it's the best I can do.) Then I drive 45 minutes (not in traffic most of the way) to Clarendon for my swing dance class. That starts at 7:00, and lasts until 8:00. Then Dustin and I go and find me something to eat. At 9:00-ish, we go back for the dance. I get home anytime between 10:30 and 11:00. Then I have to unwind so I can go to bed. Needless to say, I get really tired multiple times during the day. Fortunately, the music is usually good for the dance, and that usually wakes me up some.

Last night, I kept trying to dance with girls, but I kept getting beat out by like 2 seconds by other guys. It was really frustrating. It's not like I was being picky with who I dance with, there just wasn't anybody to dance with, and when there was, they only stood there for about 10 seconds before somebody came along and scooped them up. The other girls that were standing around were with somebody, and you can't ask them to dance. :S It must be nice to be a girl, and get to dance all the time. I wish it worked out so well for the guys. Before I started dancing, if you were to ask me if there were more guys or girls at dances/dance classes, I would have definitely said girls, but now, I think I can safely say that there are more guys than girls, and it sucks. I think I only got to do like 5 dances last night. Maybe 6. And two of them were with Courtney. (she had pity on me.) ;)

The other sucky part about it is that all the people who stick around for the dance are WAY better than me. I keep on confusing them when I send them in to something and then don't finish it the way they were expecting. It makes me feel dumb because I don't know if what I'm doing is wrong, or if it all works, and they just are used to the "routine".

But it's a lot of fun. I really enjoy dancing to swing music. And it's fun to dance with a girl who knows what she's doing because everything just moves along so much better. (even if I feel dumb)

I had a really good archery practice last night. I was shooting really well, and I was shooting 8 arrow ends (I usually only shoot 6, so it's much more tiring). I had one arrow that sounded like it robin hooded the other one, but when I got down there, it only broke the nock. It was just so loud that I thought I had broken another arrow. That would have been really irritating, because those arrows are $300/dozen, and I already ruined one. It makes you feel good, but at the same time, I can't afford to be breaking those all the time. :)

Work is really light this week. Most of my projects are quiet, but when they start up again, they will keep me pretty busy, so I can't take on many more projects. I've been working on the LEED Certification (energy efficiency/green design) for our office the past day and a half. I'm getting really bored with it. It's a lot of reading because I haven't done it before. I don't feel like I've been very productive on it, but if I wasn't working on that, I would probably just be sitting here trying to look like I was actually doing something. Hopefully I'll be able to work on a job tomorrow. If it starts up, I'll be able to spend some time on it this week, and maybe in to next week. I don't know what I'm going to do next week. I don't think I have anything coming up on any of my current projects, except for that one. :S I might be bored...

This is getting a lot longer than I was expecting for just having one day on it.... I'm going to stop writing now, and go back to listening swing music. :)
