As you can probably tell from the lack of posting this month, I've been super busy.
Amy came out to visit over the 4th, and we had a great time. We watched the fireworks on the Mall, and did some of the touristy stuff. We even got out to the archery range. :) And apparently, according to the worship team's forum, "Sam's a playa". Not sure where they get that from. ;)
My swing dance class has been going really well. Last night was the next to last night of the session. I won't be able to make it to the last class because I'll be in CO for Nationals. I really, really enjoy swing dancing!
Archery has been keeping me very busy this week. I started skipping some of my usual activities so I could shoot to get ready for Nationals. The Mid-Atlantic Championships were a couple weeks ago. I shot the best score I've shot in 5 years, and it was only 5 points under my personal best. I'm really looking forward to Nationals! I'm finally back to where I used to be before we started adjusting my form!
Work has gotten busier for me. I have several jobs that are under construction, and they require a lot of attention. Two of them are really complex projects, and one is a government project, so there are a lot of pointless RFI's on that one. One of the complex projects should be wrapping up in mid September. I'm looking forward to it being finished.
I've been running more often lately. Last Wednesday, I had to stay late at work, but I still wanted to run, so I somehow squeezed in 3.5 miles in under a half an hour. My average pace was 8:05 min/mile. I was really pleased with that! A few years ago, I could run comfortable 8 minute miles, so I'm getting closer to being in shape again. :)
I'll try to keep you all updated on Nationals. Hopefully I'll have some time where I can post. Dad is going to meet me out there for it, and we're staying in a cabin somewhere about 15 minutes from the venue.
I hope you all are doing great!
